This worksheet can be used to describe or determine the value of an item of fine jewelry based on it's metals, diamonds, gemstones, labor and provenance components. Entering information or making selections trigger look-ups or calculations.

Please enter an item reference at left. This will be used as the subject in an e-mail message containing saved information sent to the address below the reference.

Set default mark-up thresholds in the brown table at left. You can also adjust the mark-up on a per line item basis later to estimate retail prices.

Click the "Description" link to expand the Description section. This section is where you enter the main description of the item and where the summarized results of calculations used throughout the worksheet can been viewed.

The first information required is the item's total gram weight. Enter the item's total gram weight into the light blue field.

Manually enter metals prices per ounce in US dollars or select "Use a web service to look-up today's metals prices and currency exchange rates" from the dropdown selector.

If you use the web service you'll also be able to select a currency from the currencies dropdown selector to look-up the conversion rate for estimated retail prices.

Enter metal alloy percentages to estimate the item's initial metals value.

Add estimated labor and service components to estimate the cost to recreate the item.

Optionally enter additional provenance or designer mark-ups for both estimated wholesale and retail prices based on market conditions.

Open the Diamonds and Gemstones sections to add shapes and measurements in millimetres to calculate carat weights. These weights are deducted from the initial metals weight.

Add quantity, quality and wholesale per carat prices to calculate diamond and gemstone value.

Clicking the button will also transfer the data to a report layout. When the report layout opens type "Ctrl P" to open Chrome's "Print to PDF" utility, set the page orientation to Letter-Portrait and save the report as a PDF file.

Open the PDF file with FoxIt Reader to annotate, add images, digitally sign, password protect or encrypt.

To make changes or corrections during the same browser session click the Back button in the browser, make the changes and re-submit.

To reload information in to the worksheet in order to make changes, corrections or update calculation results at a later date, copy the encoded text block in the e-mail message to the clipboard and paste them into this decoder form.

ValuCalc Decoder Form
